Isaac had his gallbladder surgery on tuesday. It left him tired, sore and drugged up for the rest of the day. But he is doing really well now. We got him out of the house for a little bit yesterday and went to the park. In Las Vegas a lot of the public parks have areas where the playgrounds squirt out water. They're great, because summer gets so hot that noone can get on the regular playgrounds- their bums would burn just sitting on the slide. Anyway we went to one of these free water parks for about an hour; Isaac sitting with Hyrum at a bench in the shade while I watched Ammon squeel and run through the spouting water. Hyrum wouldn't get in and play, although by the time we left he did get close enough to the water to get sprayed a little bit. Ammon's favorite part was the area where the water shoots up out of the ground from diferent holes, and you never know which hole will spout when. I think they had/have something like this at disneyland. Anyway, He'd run up and go "water water!" And then the water would spring up and hit him in the face. This caused him to laugh and laugh! I myself was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt by the time we left. There's something so joyfull about seeing your own children so happy and excited about something. You can't help but join in too. Ammon also had fun putting a cup on the ground over the spout and then watching the water shoot up and launch the cup into the air. He did it over and over again giggling with joy each time.
Once Ammon was finally too cold to play anymore, we stopped by the Juarez house down the street from the park to say hi to my in-laws (and to get Ammon dry). I also wanted to make sure Isaac was doing ok,which he was.
We may not have anything extremely fancy about our parks here in vegas, but I give thanks to the people who decided to make those water spouting playgrounds. Summer here is so much better for them.
