The Highschool reunion get together thingymajig

My Buddies from Highschool and I (and our families) got together for an evening a couple weeks ago. We were all really close in high school and we haven't all been in the same place at the same time for quite a while. As it was, We were still missing Jon and Corianne that night (they were on a much needed vacation to Disneyland. I can't blame them!). Still it was really nice to hang out and catch up.Johnny Hopfe, Aysha Gunter, Me, and Carl Jacob Chapman
We 4 (plus Jon Guerin who couldn't make it) all became good friends our freshman year of highschool. Aysha, Jon, Jake and I became friends the first week of school, and we got to know Johnny shortly after that. We were all band majors in the same band (Varsity 1). We still see each other occasionally, just not at the same time.

While most of us there had gone to LVA, both mine and my sister's husband had gone to Basic. So they had fun reminising about their highschool too. But even if they handn't I think they still would have had fun at our picnic.

We made a big pot of chili and Corn bread, My sister made pudding, johnny brought some chips, and Jake brought the Drinks. Actually, our friend Rachel was supposed to bring the drinks and then didn't bother to show up. We lucked out that Jake had a box of unopened sodas in his car.

Orange Soda face!

Notice the kid trying to get in the picture in the background? hahaha

We're Dorks and pround of it!

My kids decided that they really like Jake.

We (the adults) had planned on playing base ball, but there were no picnic tables near the basball fields. So we tried playing a mini game of baseball with the boys over by the playground. The base ball bat was so heavy I had to help them swing it. Then they would just sit in my lap and let me swing. I kept needing to tell them to get up! Once they hit the ball, we tried to get them to run to first base, but they would just run to whoever threw the ball and would give them a big hug.
It was such a fun night. Can't wait to do this again!
